Residents know her by name, she’s visited their homes, and she’s part of a growing group of those who work in “service politics”. Rashida Tlaib, a self-described “product of the culturally vibrant community of Southwest Detroit” is running for State Representative in the very same district she grew up in.

David-Imad Ramadan has been a Republican activist at both a grassroots and national level since he moved to Washington, DC in 1989. Over the last twenty years, he has worked on every presidential campaign on the Republican side, been involved in several gubernatorial and senatorial campaigns, and he is Precinct Captain and Outreach Chair for Loudon County Republicans.

One of the youngest candidates to run for Congress in the nation’s history and the first Democratic challenger to receive district-wide support since 1992, Sam Rasoul is a rising force. On May 24, 2008 he became the official Democratic nominee for the 6th District of Virginia.
